No. Spain's Golden Visa – residency in exchange for a €500,000 property investment – was abolished on 3 April 2025 under Ley Orgánica 1/2025. Buying property, at any value, no longer grants residency; you now apply through a separate visa route such as the Non-Lucrative or Digital Nomad Visa.
The Non-Lucrative Visa is for people who can live in Spain on passive income without working here. For 2026 the income requirement is about €2,400 per month (400% of the IPREM) plus roughly €600 per month per dependent, along with comprehensive private health insurance. It is the usual route for retirees and financially independent families.
The Digital Nomad Visa lets non-EU remote workers and freelancers live in Spain while working for companies outside the country (freelancers may earn up to 20% from Spanish clients).
